Hello, I'm Mia
I'm a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Berlin, Germany.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually unfolded into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Germany wasn't in the original plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complicated than necessary.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Moon Glow Nectar Reef
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourist content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Germany.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insight from living in Germany
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Germany goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains helpful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Berlin or anywhere in Germany, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Mia
